Frequently Asked Questions

Who are your clients exactly?

My clients are women who have finished having kids, who are tired of the “Quick fix” or gimmick that doesn’t work, who want to learn how to change their lifestyle so they can see lasting results and not be on a “diet” ever again! My clients know that they NEED support to stay committed, are REALLY ready to reclaim their bodies once and for all, and are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure it happens. My clients realize that change takes time and are willing to commit to at least 3 months of support.

I have a family and a busy life. Although I want to get my health and fitness on track I don’t have much time. Can I still work with you?

I too have a family and busy life so I get it. It can be challenging to find time for you, but it is possible. We will work together to explore the various options, create a plan that fits your needs and lifestyle and then I will hold you accountable to ensure you make it happen. I truly believe if there is a will there is a way. If you are REALLY ready we can make it happen for you.

What type of person does not benefit from your services?

There are 3 types of women that are not well suited for my services:

  1. Women who have “reasons” and excuses like: “I don’t have time”, “I can’t afford it”, “It’s just too hard with my job and family life”, “I don’t like to cook” or “I just don’t have any time for me”. Women with these beliefs are not ready for my help YET, but could be well suited with a little shift in their thinking.
  2. Women who want a quick fix and who would prefer to take a pill or “potion” than to exercise and eat healthy. I believe it is all about creating a healthy lifestyle and that there is no substitute for eating real wholesome foods and fitting in fitness that you enjoy.
  3. Women who WANT to get healthy and fit but aren’t willing to fully commit. Women who only want to work out when it’s convenient and eat healthy when it works for them are not well suited for my services. I want all my clients to see results and a full commitment is necessary in order to see results.

How are you different than other Nutrition and Fitness professionals?

From a credentials perspective, I am a Personal Trainer with my Nutrition degree which is a rare combination in the industry. Most Personal Trainers can only offer standard, basic nutrition advice but I am able to offer a full range of nutrition support. I am also a trained Health Coach which enables me to not only offer fitness and nutrition advice but also help women create a healthy mindset as well. It’s one thing to know what you are supposed to do and another to get your mind to cooperate! I help my clients get over what’s blocking them from REALLY seeing the results they want to see. I also don’t believe there is a “magic” product out there that will make or break your health so I won’t try and sell you anything! I may recommend resources and tools that might help make the process easier but your only required investment is personalized, productive time with me. The health and fitness industry is very focused on “fixing” people on the outside, but my focus is on helping women get healthy from the inside out. I support women in achieving long term health and fitness solutions so that they can become confident, healthy and fit and feel GREAT about their achievements!

How quickly can I expect to see results?

When it comes to health and fitness the results you get are reflective of the effort and commitment put forth. I would love to guarantee that everyone will lose a certain amount of weight by a certain time but I can’t, that would be setting you up with an unrealistic expectation. Everybody is unique and comes to me with a different set of circumstances, life experience and mindset. Although I can’t promise certain numbers in a given time frame I can promise that you will see the results you want to see if you stick to the plan and follow my guidelines and you will get healthy from the inside out. You will be able to achieve your goals much faster than on your own and we can fast track the process by meeting more often. The more we meet, the faster you will be able to move forward. You will have every opportunity to be 100% successful, you also have my promise that I will do all that I can to empower you to succeed and if you are 100% committed you will get where you want to be!

How will we work together and what do your programs entail?

I offer a variety of options to accommodate the varying needs of my clients. I offer nutrition support out of my home office in Cloverdale or I will go to your home if you live in Cloverdale, South Surrey or West Langley. If you do not live in these areas, I also offer my services over the phone. All of these private coaching sessions are 60 min and we meet as often as we deem necessary. All fitness sessions are 45-60 min (with the exception of the one-time program which is 75 min) and take place at Live 2 Play Fitness Studio in downtown Cloverdale. I will also travel to your home if you are set up to do fitness at home and you live in the areas mentioned above. We will create a schedule of appointments for the length of your program so you can plan around our sessions. Beyond our in person sessions I also support you by checking your on line food logs, communicating with you via email and facebook (if you have an account ) and by phone if necessary. Each session is designed with you in mind. I do have standard topics that I have available for each client but I do not limit our sessions to just these topics. How we proceed is dependent on your current understanding of health and fitness, your current health and fitness level and what your goals are. I put a large emphasis on creating a healthy mindset because I believe that this is the missing piece in so many of the current programs that exist. Without a healthy mindset it is virtually impossible to realize your goals. Whether you are a fitness client, a nutrition client or both, you will receive all that I have to offer every time we meet!

How long are the programs?

I recommend a minimum 3 month commitment for all my programs. Lifestyle change does not happen overnight or even in 1 month so there is little point in committing to less than this. I also know that the 6 week to 2 month mark is very typically the point that people decide to give up on a program that seems not to be working FAST enough. What they don’t realize is that they just haven’t given their body long enough to respond! Sticking it out just a bit longer, with a full commitment, will bring about the results they are looking for. The length of the program is also dependant on your starting point and your goals. You can set up a free telephone consultation to determine the best course of action for you.

Can I contact some of your current or former clients to see what it is like to work with you?

Of course you can. I have a list of clients that are more than willing to share their experience and I would be happy to have you contact them. Contact me via email at andrea@life-designs.ca or call me at 604-868-8587 and I will send you the list!

Ok , I’m ready to do this for myself but I have a couple of questions, can I call you?

Absolutely! We can set up a time to chat so that you can ask away. There is no obligation to commit and no charge for the call. I want you to feel confident about the process and your choice to work with me. Contact me via email at andrea@life-designs.ca or call me at 604-868-8587 to set up a time to share your struggles, ask key questions and talk about solutions.

Ok, I know which program I want, now how do I get started?

GREAT, I look forward to the opportunity to help you reach your health and fitness goals! First, send me a message about the service or program you are interested in and the days and times you are available. Next, I will contact you within 24hrs to chat further to ensure that I am good match for you and that our schedules will work together. If we are a good fit, then we will schedule our initial consultation, I will send you a client prep package via email for you to complete and return to me before our first session. Your payment is due on or before our first meeting and I accept cash, cheque or Pay Pal. We will set up a schedule of sessions during our initial consultation so that you have plenty of notice to schedule around them. From this point, each person’s program is individualized and we will proceed within the framework of the program and according to your goals and needs. I look forward to hearing from you!

Do you offer payment plans for your services?

I certainly do. I know it can be overwhelming to make a full financial commitment up front and that this becomes an easy way to opt out of a commitment you might be nervous to make! Here are the options you have:

Any 3 month program:

2 equal payments due on day 1 and one month later

Any 6 month Program:

4 equal payments due on day one and then every 30 days until payments are complete

Any 12 month program:

6 equal payments due on day 1 and then every 60 days until payments are complete

**Post dated cheques or pre authorized pay pal payments are required for all payment plans**
