Oat n' Honey Bars
A healthy treat!
This is a super simple recipe that takes 5 min to prepare and is a great alternative to commercial baked goods.
Ingredients
- 2 cups quick cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of liquid honey
- 1/3 cup melted butter or margarine
- 1 and 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup choc chips (or any other flavor you like) and/or dried fruit of your choice
- 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut (optional)
Directions
- Mix all ingredients together but add coconut and choc chips last, once everything is thoroughly mixed.
- Line a 9 x 13 pan with parchment paper (to prevent sticking) and pour the mixture into the pan.
- Push down with a damp hand or spatula and spread the mixture out so it fills the pan.
- Bake at 350° for 22-25 min or until brown and crisp. Take out and let cool for 5 min on wire rack then remove from pan, remove parchment and cut into squares before it gets too cold.
